And thanks for another wildly successful Lono Grease Summit! For those of you who didn't make it, our Summit consisted of 14 people and a total of 9 earth-friendly machines (mostly SVO cars, a couple bio-diesels and newbies). I think, if my numbers are correct, everyone who came to the March Summit came to the April Summit, plus one! I love that! Anywho, our 9 cars caravanned around Honolulu starting from Kakaako Point Panic Beach Park, headed East on Ala Moana, onto Kalakaua through Waikiki, around Diamond Head, took a quick pit stop at Triangle Park, continued through Kahala, then onto the Kalanianaole until we reached Kokohead District Park where we picniced. We definitely turned some heads, got some numbers, and despite getting split up several times due to our long long train, were able to stir up some curiosity. Not sure about everyone else, but I got a huge kick out of looking in my rearview mirror and seeing a line of old mercedes greasers behind me, and smelling the ones in front of me! I love that we got out and rallied, and I hope we can do some other drives in the future...
I've got to do some work on the blog, so check it out soon when I've added some pics (and video?) from this last Summit, and also hopefully add everyone in the "member" tab at some point (with permission of course). But in the meantime, sadly, I'lll be out of town for the the next two meetings. However, a fellow greaser will be emailing everyone with the next meeting date, time, and details. Bye for now, and keep on trucking - like the stickers said "I wouldn't be driving if it wasn't on grease". Thanks!
