First SVO Summit, Massive Success

Aloha Everyone, and once again thanks for making the first SVO Summit a massive success. I was thrilled with the turnout and felt like we really came together to celebrate and share our passion for alternative energy and direct involvement in the luxury of transport.

For those of you who missed the Summit, or are visiting the site as a newbie, here is the rundown: myself and my boyfriend, Derek, both current veggie car owners, have had a hankering to get together others like us to meet one another in a formal SVO setting. We invited everyone we knew on the Island that owned, or was interested in owning, a greasecar, and those people extended that invitation to others in the community. We ended up with a solid little group of 13 people and 9 greasecars that came from miles around. I am willing to bet that if we were not a group that is in part dedicated to being self-reliantly mobile, we would have had half the turnout because of the unearthly price of diesel gas. Now, defining the concepts and basics of a "greasecar", SVO, or the luxury of transport? That will have to be done on another day or on your own time on wikipedia. To get started for now, I'd like to share some pictures and faces from our meeting on Saturday...
